Alan’s Nature Notes from August
Hello again
Well, the hot weather has gone, and has been replaced by windy, wet stuff. It isn't Autumn yet, but it sure feels like it!
The swallows and martins are still here, but if the weather doesn't warm up, they'll soon be off to Africa. On 21st July, I saw hundreds of them in the evening at Mousehole, sweeping low over the ripe corn, catching insects. Their larger cousins, the swifts, will probably have all left Britain by now, and will be on their way south.

Churchmouse – September
Hi friends, do you like this picture I took of Parchina on our holiday. We had a super time visiting our family at the seaside. We played up and down the sand dunes, sliding on leaves, we ran in and out of tunnels made by children and we played in the great sand castles built by some very clever people on the beach when they had all gone home. Oh it was great fun. One of our favourite things was running to the edge of the sea and waiting until a wave came in then running ahead of it to see if we could keep our toes dry, I fell over several …
