Alan’s Nature Notes from November
Hello and a very happy new year
As you know, this Winter has been quite mild so far. It's the 16th December today, so anything can happen before you read these notes, but so far, so good!
Late in November, I saw a butterfly in flight - a red admiral. It then landed on a bramble - lovely colours shining in the late sunshine. Then, a huge flock of birds appeared overhead - a mixed flock of fieldfares and wood pigeons - hundreds of birds. Churchmouse – January 2015
Dear Friends,
Happy New Squeaks! I hope by the time you read this we will have had some snow and Parchina and I can go out snowballing. It’s so good to get outside even when it’s cold and run around and get rid of our Christmas tummies.
We had a great time over Christmas, there were lots of berries to gather from the decorations in church and then there were lots of lovely crumbs left over from the Carols Services. We’re so glad that people drop plenty of mince pie crumbs. "Yum yum", we say when you have all gone as we gather them up quickly …

News from Payhembury Bowls Club
The club held their annual club finals in the hall on Wednesday 10th December.
There was a semi final played between Alan Jones and Bryan Salter which Alan won.
The final was between Alan Jones and Derek Johns which Derek won, so he is our new bowls champion. After the matches we had drinks and nibbles.
On 3rd December a lovely young 7 year old boy called Nicholas joined us and we hope that he will come again in the new year. …
