The locally grown bedding plants we have for sale at the shop are selling fast now summer's here and we're looking forward to seeing them all blooming in your beautiful hanging baskets and pots throughout the village.
More and more purchases at our shop are paid for with a card or put onto an account so we've listened to your suggestions and have agreed there will be no minimum spend for a contactless card purchase. Hello again,
We've been enjoying lovely Spring weather recently, haven't we?
So sunny that a green woodpecker has been attracted into our garden. He quarters the lawns, looking for ants. There are plenty about, even in the house.
I understand that there has been a cuckoo, at Yellingham - Janet has heard it calling. Lucky her!
The birds in the garden seem to be fewer than a month or so ago. They must be busy nesting and raising young. We see a few goldfinches, robins, dunnocks and a pair of greenfinches. One day, a young sparrow hawk flew …

Broadhembury & District Gardening Club – Annual Show
Our May meeting was really well attended by both members and visitors and Anne Swithinbank encouraged us all to grow something different! Hopefully many unusual plants will now be being propagated in Broadhembury and the surrounding areas and we await to see the results.
We were blessed with excellent weather for our annual plant sale which was very successful once again. Our thanks to everyone who contributed in any way.

May Day Fair Success
What a fantastic day we had for our annual May Day Fair. The children, the weather and even the dogs were brilliant. We are so lucky to have such community support for our school events and we are sure all those that came had a great time.
We are immensely proud to announce that we raised well over £1,000 profit, the most we have ever raised at our May Day Fair. We are still finalising figures, so will report the exact amount in a future newsletter.
