Hello everyone,
Michael Down’s barn owl chicks have fledged, so that is great news. Tim Hubbard tells me that he has had two little owl chicks in his garden which have also fledged—so, great news for our owl population.
Martin Hazelgrave has been lucky enough to see hobbies at Luton. These are small falcons, which dash about chasing dragon flies, and small birds too.
Andrew Renshaw has been good enough to send me a photo of a stoat, in his garden, which had just brutally murdered a rabbit. There was not much left of the rabbit.
In our garden, I have seen tiger moths, a female brimstone butterfly, and some small tortoiseshells. I was particularly pleased to see these butterflies, because there have not been many around this year.
