Churchmouse – February

1 February 2016 By Sue

chuHi friends,

Do you like this picture Rev Cate sent from her holiday? It’s of a mice cricket team. We were so surprised to see this we mice have never thought of playing cricket, but this has put the idea into our heads. We are not sure whether you can play it indoors; the weather at the moment is not very nice so we are spending most of our time inside.

Don’t tell anyone but we have a new game, we leap onto the bell ropes and swing from rope to rope, Mum says it will damage the ropes and we will get into trouble but we are very careful.

We have had a good think about this idea of playing cricket, we don’t know if there are any special rules for playing mice cricket. We have heard that the rules for human  cricket are very difficult, perhaps someone could write some simple rules for us mice and leave them in church for us to read.

It’s been a quiet month with Rev Cate away. The children have still come to church for their weekly service and we have had a lot of different people taking the services. It makes a nice change to hear someone else.

We really enjoyed the soup lunch and had lots of fun gathering up all the crumbs  when everyone had gone. We do wish that people weren’t so good at sweeping up, but we managed to gather enough. But if we are going into training to be good cricketers we really are going to have to eat more!

I believe this month our All Ages Service is going to be earlier, so no lie in for us mice on that Sunday, but we will be able to gather the crumbs from the biscuits earlier too, so that’s good. Well, must go now to get in training and hopefully we can learn how to play cricket in time for the summer and find some other mice teams.

Bye, Parchie and Parchina
