Churchmouse – February

9 February 2014 By Sue

cate2Hi, hope you like the picture of me! Mum and Dad told us to be careful when we went out on these wet and windy days. Well I was a bit bored one day, the rain had stopped Parchina and I from playing out in the fields or up and down the drainpipes, so we had to just sit and play in that lovely children’s area in church. I thought the rain had stopped so I went up the tower and squeezed through our usual hole, I took my brolly with me just in case. Mum and Dad and Granma and Grandpa were busy making sure the water which rushes past our front door was not coming into our cosy nest. I crept out slowly onto the top of the tower. Everywhere looked so wet, then it started to rain so I quickly put up my brolly and then whoosh! A great gust of wind took me off my feet and carried me over the edge of the tower, “help”, I thought, “where am I going?” Well the gust passed and I floated towards the ground landing in a large puddle. I crept back into church wet and soggy, just to be met by Mum who took one look at me and sent me off for a hot bath, not before I had a good telling off for doing what I was not supposed to do. A note to you children, Mums and Dads know best!

I hope the 3 children that were baptized this month do as they are told,. We had a church full for the Christening of Hattie and Heidi and then a little later that afternoon Joseph’s family arrived for his baptism. Now where did I see Rev Cate and Clive going between these services? Well I must dash off now, Mum has got me doing extra reading as well for not doing as I was told, but I love reading so it’s not too bad.

Love and squeaks, Parchie.
