A Tale of Two Mice
Hi friends, look what we have been up to! Parchina and I love this time of year, we love collecting up all different colour leaves and making different things with them.
This year we have been making boats and when we find a puddle we have boat races. The other day I didn’t notice that the lovely gold and red leaf I had chosen had a small hole in it. I bent my leaf into a good boat shape, I found a nice straight twig as an oar and was really pleased with it. Parchina had made one as well but it was much smaller than mine and a bit twisted, so I teased her and said she was a rotten boat builder. Well that got her a bit upset and off she marched.
I carried my leaf boat down to the stream as it was so good. I put the boat in the stream and jumped in and started to paddle across. Suddenly I felt my feet feeling wet and oh no! There was a rip in the bottom of my lovely leaf boat and I was sinking. Just then my friend the water vole popped up and swam across to me, I climbed onto his back and he took me back to dry land. (Actually he told me off for trying something so silly.) I thanked him and saw my lovely boat sink out of sight. Then I ran back to church. Parchina was waiting for me on the step. I said sorry to her for being nasty and teasing her and we went in search of some nice crumbs together. Well what an adventure!
I haven’t even had time to tell you about the lovely wedding of Cat and Mark, who brought a dog with them! Or the christenings of Faith and Jazmine. All exciting and fun things that happened this month. Perhaps I should stick to where it’s safe in future, squeaks Parchie and Parchina.
