Update on Proposed 6-week Road Closure in Colestocks

The proposed closure of the road through Colestocks (from near the end of the Payhembury-Colestocks footpath, through the centre of Colestocks and down to Shoots Barn) is still being discussed by all of the relevant parties. The aim is to find a solution that enables the property to be attached to the National Grid whilst minimising the disruption to road users. A number of options are being revisited to see if they can be made to work and the time it is taking to find the best viable option is an indication of how complicated this issue is.

Dates have already been moved back from the original April/May dates and any work is not currently expected to be until June/July at the earliest. Western Power are very aware of the issues that closing the road will cause and are working hard to minimise the disruption as much as possible. They are in regular contact with the Parish Council to ensure that the latest information is available as quickly as possible.
