There have been several incidents reported this morning from Plymouth, Cornwall and East Devon and they seem to be travelling further a field, of men calling at homes in 2 man teams claiming to be from the Waterboard. They have managed to gain entry to some elderly residents homes and money is their target. Please do not allow anyone into your home you do not know. Jim Kimber’s 1,000 mile Cycle Challenge

John O’Groats to Lands End Bike Ride
Jim Kimber is planning to cycle 1000 miles to raise £1000 for village organisations and ‘Save The Children’.
Starting at the end of May, Jim’s route will lead him via York, Cambridge and Oxford calling at friends and family en route before arriving back in Payhembury where George will join him for the final part to Lands End. Leyhill in the Express and Echo
Leyhill is going well after two nights - this is what the local newspaper had to say about it:
A DEVON theatre group is taking over an entire house for its latest production.
Each scene will be played out in a different part of Leyhill, an old and rambling house near Payhembury.
The work, put on by the Tale Valley Community Theatre, is made up of separate, 10-minute scenes capturing the history of the house and what did happen – or may have happened – at seven points in the history of the old house.

Did you know - when you book for TVCT's new production 'Leyhill', (18, 19, 20 and 21 April) you receive prior to the production an excellent, hot-off-the-press, concertina format, sixteen-page programme/ticket which gives essential prior-information to audience members on what they will see - scenes in parts of the house and its environs from 1349 to 2012?

Leyhill Tickets
Tickets for 'Leyhill' can be booked by contacting Paula Nelson on 01404 841232. Your ticket will be sent to you in advance of the performance as it is actually a fold-out booklet which will give you contextual information about the seven scenes you will see in the various rooms and outside spaces at Leyhill. You will get much more from the performance if you have read the programme before attending.
There is an absolute limit of 112 per night (18, 19, 20 and 21 April) and, as with our last production, Hollyhayes, which sold out all 600 tickets …

Do you have the Payhembury Daffodil in your Garden?

Did you know that Payhembury has its own variety of daffodil? It is a double and very attractive. There are known groups in the gardens of Louise Granger and Joy Morgan and there was a group at Glebe Farm but the whereabouts of other groups of this local variety have been lost in the mists of time
