Payhembury Provisions News – April 2017

3 April 2017 By Sue

shop logoAt the beginning of March all our volunteers got together for a candlelit supper at the Parish Hall which has now become an annual occasion to thank everyone who helps in the shop in every way. This year there were over 40 of us tucking into Yellingham Farm beef casserole cooked by Ed, followed by Paula’s lemon posset…..mmmmmm, and an after dinner talk by Janet East with some of her funnier moments on the farm.

If you’re new to the village I can’t think of a better way to get to know people and feel at home here than m2by volunteering at Payhembury Provisions; just get in touch with Anne Baxter 841345.

m1Easter is nearly here and the shop is full of good things to celebrate; we have hot cross buns, flowers, cards, wine and Easter eggs as well as our local fresh eggs. And don’t forget if you’d like a special joint of locally sourced meat for Easter, or any weekend, you can order it at the shop by Wednesday morning and it will be m4delivered to the shop on a Thursday morning.

And while the children are busy hunting for their Easter eggs why not treat yourself to a m3leisurely breakfast with local Stapleton’s yoghurt (much cheaper in our shop) with local Common Loaf granola (not available in supermarkets) and freshly baked croissants, pains au choc and pains aux raisins, and just chill out with the Sunday papers.

And it’s all on the doorstep in our community shop!
