News From Payhembury Provisions – February 2017

30 January 2017 By Sue

miscIt may be cold outside in February but as usual the atmosphere is warm and friendly in the village shop. Our hot drinks machine has been going at full steam ahead during December and January while we had a free hot drink offer but now we are back to charging again it is still a really good way to warm up and at only £1, and with a free biscuit if you’re lucky, it is very reasonable.

We all need some small treats at this time of year and with Valentine’s Day coming up soon it may be time to treat your nearest and dearest too! We know from our sales figures that we like our wine in Payhembury, why not buy an extra bottle, order a nice juicy steak or buy some of our authentic curries, add a box of chocolates and a bunch of cheerful Cornish daffodils and you will be all set for a cosy and romantic night in.  misc1

We will also be getting Seville oranges in for all the marmalade makers in the village, I‘m sure there is a class in the Flower and Bulb show for you to show off your skills in the marmalade-making department.

Lastly, don’t forget Shrove Tuesday on 28th February, we always have lemons, freerange local eggs, butter, milk and flour in stock ready for you to make a pile of perfect pancakes. February need not be such a dull month after all!

Mary
