After 8 years Sue Derbyshire has decided it’s time to put her computer into sleep mode and hand over the job of Parish Paper editor to someone else. During this time she has masterminded changes in the paper with new contributors and new formats and has been involved in setting up and running the village website. She has given her time and energy to make sure we are all informed about what is going on in the village every month and despite battling against computers that won’t do what they’re supposed to, contributions in illegible hand-writing and a million other nightmares she always seems to remain cheerful. So thank you from us all Sue.
Thank you too to Kirsty Cann who has been Sue’s able deputy over the last year or so. She has brought some fresh ideas to the paper and helped to include more news from the school and the lovely pictures from the children.
The good news is that we have a crack team of 3 new editors poised to take over from Sue and Kirsty. They are Claire McMurtrie, Marian Edwards and Kate Duggan and we are delighted to have them on board. They can be contacted as usual at payhemburypaper@yahoo.co.uk or for the more traditional by the box on the church gate.
I’m sure the Parish paper will evolve under the new editorial team so expect some changes and we will welcome your feedback.
Mary Whiting, Parish paper committee
