FORT Federation Payhembury Primary School

‘Living, loving and learning Forever; being the best as we journey together’

Our caring village school is at the heart of our community. We have over 100 children in four classes, as well as a governor-led preschool for children from the age of three.  We are committed to providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.

We aim to instil a love of learning in our children, as well as providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities that help them to develop their full potential.

Working in partnership with parents is crucial to enabling your child to flourish. We are always happy to discuss any questions or queries that you may have. Whilst we hope that the website is helpful to you, it will never replace a visit to school. Please contact the office to arrange to visit.

We are in a close-knit federation of two schools, Awliscombe and Payhembury nestled on the edge of the Blackdown hills. The schools lie in two valleys in the southern shadow of the sleeping giant, FORT Hembury. We work together to ensure the highest educational standards and extra-curricular opportunities to give all of our children the very best opportunities in life.

At the heart of everything we do are the children. The seven years they spend with us is an extremely precious time of enormous growth and change. We seek to make every opportunity a learning experience and squeeze the best out of each and every day. Although learning is our core purpose, so is laughter, friendship, challenge, exploration and collaboration.

Prayer Spaces

February 26th, 2020

Some members from Payhembury church have been involved in organising and leading a morning of prayer spaces in the church for Oak Class, in February, with the theme of acceptance; this being one of the school’s Parch values. The children went around the church in small groups, with their leader, discussing ways of acceptance in terms of inclusion, war/family rifts, positive words to describe ourselves, praying for people that are different/the same. Each prayer space had a different activity that helped the children focus and re-enforce the different aspects of acceptance. It was super to hear what the children had […]
