Payhembury C of E Primary School

schoolsmall Payhembury C of E Primary SchoolWe are a small, friendly and caring school committed to providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. Although we are small, with numbers of around 65, we provide education for children aged from four to eleven, organised into three classes. We provide a wide range of educational experiences that take into account individual needs

We also acknowledge the importance of social, personal, moral and spiritual development in a stimulating, caring environment. We believe the relationship between the school and the parent is vitally important to the child’s overall development. We are always pleased to answer questions and discuss important issues you may wish to raise and hope you will attend Parent Interviews and other events in the school calendar.

We hope this information will be of help to you. It cannot, of course, replace a visit to the school. Such a visit would enable you to chat to staff and children and gain a first hand impression of the quality of educational provision. This would be the first step towards establishing a lasting relationship.

Spring Term: Oak class spent an active afternoon at Kings playing tag rugby in a local tournament. The children conducted themselves well and they enthusiastically took part in all the games. Ash class visited Kings for an Olympic Art day. They had great fun and the children made three fantastic pieces of large Art work. They also arranged and performed their own dance sequences. After Easter Lisa Arnold, the Kings Dance teacher, will lead a series of lessons and as a finale the children will perform their dance arrangements to an audience. Every Thursday this term Year 11 play leaders [...]

February News

February 7th, 2012

It has been a very quiet start back into the spring term at school, especially after the very busy autumn term and unfortunately there is not too much to report. We are however very pleased to welcome a new local family into our school who have started in Willow Class. In January Oak class took part in a Netball tournament at The Kings School. These events are very useful as the children obviously get to take part in the sports and use King’s facilities but they also mix with children from the other schools in our learning community, this will [...]

December News

December 12th, 2011

Half term ended with a great school disco, Bike Rack Boogie, which was organised by Mrs James and the School Council. The children thoroughly enjoyed the music, balloons and dancing and proceeds will be going towards a bike rack for the school. The children took part in a very moving service of Remembrance which was given by Oak Class. It was lovely to see members of the local community joining us and the poems produced by Oak Class were stunning. Hopefully we will have them on the website soon for everyone to appreciate. We had a film crew in the [...]
