Our 50th show was a great success, despite the fact that Joy could not be with us to due to ill health. We really missed her and wish her a speedy recovery. As usual, the hall looked and smelled wonderful, and the standards in each class were very high.
It was fantastic that Betty Johns could open the show, she is the Chair and has been a part of every single one of the fifty shows which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a great feat of longevity. She welcomed everyone and gave out the cups and did a fabulous job.
I would really like to thank the whole committee for their dedication and hard work, I was unaware until Saturday, just how much effort it takes to organise everything. Several people have asked me why the Bulb Show is so late in the afternoon, and I explained to them that it takes that long to work out the points, who has won what, and to write out all the certificates. Also thank you to everyone that entered and attended on the day, I think you’ll all agree it was another capital village event.
