Sunday School

There is no formal Sunday School as such, more Children’s and Youth Work:

We are really pleased to be offering various youth groups for our children and youth from school year 5 through to year 12. The groups meet 2 or 3 times a month in age related groups at various venues. Here the children have the opportunity to talk more about their faith and discuss relevant issues in a safe, secure and non judgmental environment. Once a month we have a purely social event which, might include anything from watching a film to going on a Safari Supper!!

For more information about dates, times and venues please contact Becky Gammon on beckygammon@btinternet.com

Sunday Cafe – Normally 2nd Sunday of the month (Not August though, due to summer holidays!)

We meet together from 10.15 am in the Parish Hall for tea, coffee, cakes and croissants. This is followed by an informal time together for the adults which includes, worship, prayer and some time and space to think, chat and share together. In the meantime the children are having plenty of fun and games in the main hall – which also includes a main bible themed story with related activities. A relaxed and enjoyable gathering to which everyone, however young or old are truly welcome – there is something for everyone!

All Ages Service – Normally 4th Sunday of the month.

An opportunity for all the Church family to gather together for a service in church at 9.30am that follows a familiar format each month and is a service which is accessible for everyone. There are even bacon butties!

Pop up to church for a coffee and chat at 9.15am, followed by a short time together to introduce our babies and toddlers to some of the favourite bible stories, followed by a craft activity, singing and prayer. A great opportunity to familiarise the children with church – both the building and the message! Everyone is welcome to join us – even if you don’t have little ones- the extra pairs of hands are always appreciated!

Churchmouse – June

June 3rd, 2017

Hi Friends, I wonder if you have ever thought whether we mice who live in church pray? Well I have to tell you we do. When the school children come into church we always listen and pray with them and during services we sit with our family very quietly and join in the prayers. At other times we pray as well. Last thing with Mum and Dad, before we go to sleep, we usually pray for safety, particularly that we won’t be caught by the cats, and we pray for our relatives living in the fields and hedges and we […]

Churchmouse – May

April 29th, 2017

Dear Friends, I hope this finds you hoping with spring joy. Parchina and I are very happy, we have had some lovely days playing outside in the sun, one of our favourite games is swinging on the blue bells, and did you know that we mice can hear them ring? We had a lovely time in church after the Easter services we had lots of crumbs to eat up and even some yummy chocolate. Mind you we were a bit cross with Rev Cate, why does she talk about Easter bunnies and chicks, what about Easter mice? Parchina and I […]

Churchmouse – April

April 3rd, 2017

Hi Friends Hope you are enjoying all the spring flowers, we certainly are. Did you know we mice like to climb up the daffodils, right up to the top of the trumpet (they don’t make any noise though) and then swing to and fro, it’s such fun!. When we were very small we used to climb right inside the trumpet and hide, but now we’re getting bigger we don’t fit. Oh we love the Spring with all the lovely pretty flowers in the hedges. You can see us with a friend collecting small daffodils for Mothering Sunday, we mice also […]

Churchmouse – March

March 1st, 2017

Hi Friends, Oh Parchina and I are so happy spring is on its way, that’s why we are dancing, and because our birthdays are soon. Did you know Parchina and I are twins so we have a great time celebrating our birthdays? Mum usually invites all the family around for tea and of course all our friends, there are so many mice gathered we can’t have the party in church in case someone hears us and we might get caught! Did you know that some people don’t like mice living in their churches or even their houses? Guess what, Rev […]

Churchmouse – February

January 30th, 2017

Dear Friends I hope you can see Parchina and me playing in the snow. We really enjoyed a slight covering the other day. We really wanted more! We hope you all had a jolly New Year, we mice had a great celebration and we went to visit our cousins and stayed the night. This year Mum and Dad allowed us to stay up until midnight and we danced in the field by our cousins’ nest as the clock struck 12. Oooooh it was such fun. Then we came inside for some lovely hot apple punch Auntie Dot had made, it […]

Churchmouse – January

January 5th, 2017

Happy New Year friends, we do hope you had a lovely Christmas. We had a great time; our nests were decorated with lots of pieces of tinsel that we found lying around in church. We used holly berries as well, but we don’t like the leaves, the prickles are just too much for our little noses. Mum and Dad had collected some very special goodies for us to eat, we never know where they get them from, do you think it might be the village shop? We had a huge party on Christmas Day, we invited all our field mouse […]

Churchmouse – December

December 1st, 2016

Dear Friends We mice are very excited as Christmas is coming. Oh we love Christmas especially when there is a Carol Service. We love the singing but we also have great fun clearing up all the crumbs from the mince pies. In fact last year I ate so many it gave me tummy ache. Mum had told me not to but I thought they were so good I couldn’t stop. Last year we heard there were carol singers in the village, going from house to house, so this year we thought we’d get some of our friends and make a […]

Churchmouse – November

November 7th, 2016

Hello friends Can you see what I’m doing in this picture? I’ve been gathering conkers. Parchina and I found this lovely tree, I think it’s called a horse chestnut tree. I wonder why horse chestnut? Um! Well we found this tree and underneath were hundreds of conkers, lovely shiny brown conkers, some were still in their shells but others had popped out and were just lying on the ground. So we gathered them up and have been playing with them for days. Mum was pleased when we brought some home as she says conkers keep the spiders away and she […]

Churchmouse – October

October 23rd, 2016

Hello friends, I hope you have all settled back into school and it has been great to see lots of new children in church. Reception do look tiny and their little legs swing in the pews. Parchina and I have thought that they have been very good and are learning to sit still very quickly. We mice find it ever so hard to sit still, perhaps that’s because we have tails, um! Poor Grandad mouse is having to sit very still at the moment, he has broken his leg and cut his tail… You see he was out in the […]

Churchmouse – September

September 4th, 2016

Hello friends This is not from Parchie and Parchina but from Catherina and Costos, their cousins, who live in Cyprus. It is very hot here and we mice have to stay inside our nests until it is evening or we have to get up early in the monring when it is cooler. We saw Rev Cate and her husband today. Parchie sent us a message that they were coming here on holiday. they were walking on the beach in the cool of the evening. We mice live on the edge of the beach; there are no cats to chase us but […]
