The Wednesday Club

images The Wednesday ClubThe Wednesday Club, founded in 2006, meets once a month on the second Wednesday. It is a non profit-making social club for everyone. Membership is £5 per annum and activities are 2 to 3 meetings in the Parish Hall (some with speakers ), 3 or 4 outings, 1 or 2 garden meetings, a lunch and a Christmas get together – a varied programme always shown in the Parish Paper.

May meeting

May 2nd, 2012

THE WEDNESDAY CLUB Last month just a few of us spent a really lovely sunny afternoon in Sidmouth journeying to and back along different pretty routes. All deemed it to be a good outing. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 9th May 2012 and is an outing to the gardens at Forde Abbey, Chard. The coach will leave the village at 1.30 pm with previous pick ups at Markers Park, about 1.15 pm, Hillside and the Steps. We will leave for the return at 5 pm.  Forde Abbey is an attractive venue with lovely gardens, plant centre, tearooms etc. [...]

April Meeting

March 22nd, 2012

We really enjoyed an afternoon with Steve Ford telling us “Interesting Facts” and amazing us with “Tricks of the Mind”. Wow! None of us was as clever as we thought we were but we had quite a few laughs. Many thanks to Steve – he is certainly on the list to be asked to talk to us again. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th April 2012  and will be an afternoon trip to Sidmouth where you can be dropped off in the town or up at Connaught gardens. March Meeting

March 8th, 2012

Last month 22 members and friends enjoyed a very good lunch at the Otter Inn. I am delighted that some of the “friends” decided to become members and so the numbers are creeping up. Thank you for your support. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 14th March 2012 in the Parish Hall from 2.30 p.m. when we have again invited Mr Steve Ford to talk to us. February Meeting

We all enjoyed our Christmas get together and we were pleased to welcome some of our new friends. Last month we talked about, and sort of agreed upon, a programme for the year. (Will now get cracking and organise it!!) Should be good so hope for your support. Our next month’s meeting will be on – Wednesday 8th February 2012 – and by popular request will be a lunch meeting at 12.30 for 1p.m. at The Otter Inn, Weston. January Meeting

Christmas Meeting

December 12th, 2011

THE WEDNESDAY CLUB Last month 14 members and 12 guests went to the Otter Inn for a Senior Special lunch which was very enjoyable.
