Churchmouse – January

13 January 2014 By Sue

mouseHi, I hope you have had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a fun filled New Year. What a month it has been, while Rev Cate has been away we have seen lots of different people in church doing lots of things, I wonder if she knew what was going on. We were sorry she missed the Christmas Tree Festival, what a lovely time we all had. We mice really enjoyed running around the different trees and swinging on the baubles; Parchina took a nasty tumble and nearly broke a glass ball, saved only by a dangling piece of tinsel.

Then we had Amanda and Andy’s wedding, oh that was lovely and the church looked so nice as the trees were still there. We like to watch weddings from the top of the screen, do you know when there is a wedding, Mum mouse puts on her best dress and even a hat!

The children from school sang so beautifully for the Carol Service, we always enjoy hearing them singing and there was lots of other lovely singing at all the services over Christmas. I’m afraid Parchina and I got told off for playing in the stable, Mum told us that we must look at Baby Jesus and think about God’s love coming into the world and not try and knock the donkey over. We also had a lovely Christening, little Jack may not remember how close to Christmas it was when he gets older.

Well we must dash; we have to help Mum and Dad get ready for our New Year party. We have invited a lot of our field mouse friends to join us for a big party, we have been storing away lots of goodies and we want to share them with our friends who are out in the cold.

Happy New Year, Parchie and Parchina.
