Churchmouse – July

7 July 2012 By Sue

Hello friends, this rainy weather has meant that we mice have had to spend a lot of time indoors. It’s been too windy to poke our noses out on the roof and we have had to scamper about very quickly to get some food outside.

So it’s a good job that the children left lots of crumbs after Play and Praise and we had some nice flowers petals to munch on after the wedding of Kathy Pinney and Peter Groundwater.

Well because we have had to spend so much time in doors we have had time to do some thinking, we hear that the children have reflection time at school so we mice thought that we’d have a go. But what were we going to think about? So we just sat there looking gloomy until Parchina said she had heard about counting your blessings, I asked her what she meant, she said she heard that Rev Cate at the beginning of the School Service always says a thank you prayer and that the children tell her what they want to thank God for. Their hands shoot up and there are lots of ideas of things to thanks God for.

SO we sat there and thought what we could thanks God for. We came up with a long list, we had a nice dry place to live, we could always find food outside and inside, we could hear music and happy sounds a lot of the time, we were able to share , even though we can’t be seen in people’s celebration like weddings and baptisms, we were protect ed in God’s house and lots more. So we counted them all and realized that they were all blessings, gifts from God and that really cheered us up.

The weather might be awful but it would pass and we’d be out in the sunshine again and we were so lucky to live in such a lovely place. So we mice have promised that whenever we feel fed up we will count our blessings.

Why don’t you count yours with us as well, blessing Parchie and family.
