Hi friends, it’s been a fairly quiet month for us in church so I thought I’d tell you about an adventure we mice have been on. Well the first Sunday of the month there was no service in church, strange we thought then we heard someone say that everyone had gone to Escot Church for their special service, I do hope their mice enjoyed having our friends as well. We did think about travelling over to Escot, running through the fields would be fun but we weren’t too sure about crossing a very big road. Parchina and I were very sad as the weather was so lovely.
Well Mum and Dad suggested another journey; we were going to go to the May Day celebrations on the school playing field. That might not seem far to you, but with our little feet that’s a long way. But of course we didn’t want to be seen and we had to avoid the cats! So we went early in the morning, crossed our road carefully and hid in a special viewing spot on the edge of the field. What a great day we had, we loved the Maypole dancing, how clever the children were not to get tangled up; we thought the dog show was a bit frightening and were glad that there wasn’t a cat show! Everyone seemed to be having such good fun. When everyone had gone we crept out of our hiding place and hoped to pick up some scraps of food from the lovely smelling hotdogs, but along came the field mice, “oh no”, we thought, “trouble”. The field mice were great and told us to eat as much as we wanted, they were glad to share with us, how kind. I think they must have been listening to some of the teachings of Jesus as well.
When we were full up and it was getting dark we all scampered home, it was a great day and we look forward to lots more exciting things next month, lots of weddings we hear.
Love Parchie & family
