Churchmouse – May

1 May 2014 By Sue

Fat RatOOOOOH Dear Friends, I have such a tummy ache, I have been rather silly. You see Rev Cate left some chocolate eggs and other chocolates lying around in church. I love chocolate but Mum told me I mustn’t touch them as they weren’t mine. Well I knew that now Easter is over Rev Cate wouldn’t need the chocolate so each day I nibbled a little, then a little more and then a little more until it made me very poorly. My tummy ached and ached, Parchina took this photo of me lying in our nest feeling very poorly. You see mice aren’t supposed to eat chocolate, we can eat cheese and seeds and things but not lots of chocolate. I have to tell you Mum was very cross with me, she said it was a good job it hadn’t happened over Easter or else I would have missed out on all the celebrations.

It was lovely to see the happy faces of everyone on Easter Day and to hear all the happy Easter songs. What fun the children had hunting down the eggs in the church on Good Friday, you see that’s when I had my first taste of a cream egg, not all the eggs were found by the children, so I started my nibbling. Once you’ve nibbled a cream egg you just can’t stop, very silly of me I know!

Well I’m starting to feel better now and I’m looking forward to lots of weddings this year, we started with Amy and Sam before Easter , that was great fun, I’ve never seen flowers in teapots before. The next there will be Sonya and Jon, then Georgina and Michael and finally this month Gemma and Johnny, gosh Rev Cate’s going to be busy and we’re going to have such fun watching from our hidey hole.

Well must dash have got lots of chores to do as punishment for not doing what I was told, I must learn that Mum knows best when it comes to chocolate eating, bye, bye, Parchie.
