Tea and Bingo – December
We missed Marjorie as she was away, but had a “full house” (if you’ll pardon the pun) apart from that and Vivien even brought Edward with her – always nice to have a gentleman on the premises! Most people won something and since Vivien and Edwards won so much chocolate, they kindly distributed their excess to people who didn’t win. Lovely gesture.
Many thanks to Marian for stepping into Marjorie’s “duties” and picking up the Hillside folk and bringing a cake – well two actually! She was very worried about her fruitcake, but it certainly …

Tea and Bingo – November
A good number attended the October Tea and Bingo, with Vivian calling and Jan proving very lucky for herself and Vivian when doing both cards!
Marjorie brought a delightful chocolate fudge cake, which went down very well indeed, and Sue another of her “sticky” cakes – orange this time. It is always good to have a chat and catch up with everyone’s news over a cuppa and tasty cake.
Marjorie can’t make the November meeting, as she will be out celebrating her birthday – Happy Birthday to you Marjorie and enjoy your day out! Marian has kindly …

Tea and Bingo – October
As usual, the September session was held in the Function Room – courtesy of the Six Bells. Continued thanks to them for looking after us at Tea and Bingo!
Jan was doing her usual excellent job of calling and, since there weren’t that many of us, we were soon finished with the business and through to tea and cake time. Everyone won something this time, which was nice, except for Vivian who couldn’t actually make it. Have to come yourself next time and maybe have better luck with marking your own card.
Let’s hope we have a few more “bingoers” …

Tea and Bingo – September
Once again we met in the Function Room in the Six Bells – lots of room for us there.
This month we had two nice surprises, Vivian was calling so Jan was able to do her own cards (doing a lot better than usual I have to say!) and Vivian even brought hubby Edward with her. We haven’t had a gentleman with us for a while and I suspect it brought out the competitive spirit in the ladies!
Marjorie brought some lovely shortbread, which went down without touching the sides, and Sue made her gooey cherry cake – which isn’t that pretty, but tastes …

Tea and Bingo – August
We had our July meeting in the Function Room at the Six Bells and very nice it was too with the lovely patio area they now have outside. If you haven’t seen it I would recommend a look – while clutching your pint!
We had a few teething problems with the new tickets, but soon settled down and although our numbers were a bit low (anything to do with Andy Murray being on at Wimbledon?) there were enough of us to tackle the cakes.
I think “honours” were even with the winners being nicely spread and even people who couldn’t be there, but still …

Tea and Bingo – July
A goodly number attended our June meeting and we were very impressed that Liz Watnough brought her sister Vivien with her from…. Australia! What a way to come for a game of bingo. It was lovely to see her and we hope she’ll be back in a year’s time.
As usual the Six Bells gave us a warm welcome and we always appreciate that. A couple of people had “lucky” seats, so if they are willing I think we should all sit in different seats next month, but we shall see!
Our next meeting is on:
Wed 5th July, 2.15pm
in the Six Bells
As usual, if you …

Tea and Bingo – June
A happy gang of nine people played bingo in May, with two people playing cards for those who couldn’t make it – although some were luckier than others with the prizes!
Apparently I owe the shop an apology as I did not mean to suggest their cakes aren’t good – in fact they are lovely – but that it was lazy of me to buy a cake instead of make one. This time I did make one and as usual Marjorie brought a lovely one too.
There is plenty of room now we are accommodated so nicely at the pub, so do …
