During the month of August the Rural Affairs Team had the monthly theme of ‘Equine Crime’. We produced an information sheet with some crime prevention advice for horse owners. These can also be applied to a farm/yard environment. The Leach family have very generously offered an area of approximately 2 acres of land down in The Meadows to be used for a village car park, allotments and a full size, flat!!! football pitch. The Parish Council have checked with EDDC planning authority to see what their view would be regarding planning permission as there was no point pursuing this idea if EDDC felt there was no likelihood that planning permission would be granted. While professional swimming groups are able to start returning to the pool, sadly we can’t open to the general public due to continuing social distancing measures, both in and out of the water, and sanitising between each use. Life-guarding requirements are also changing. We will continue to review guidance, but it is unlikely we will be opening to the public for the foreseeable future. Nicki Leach
