Payhembury Provisions News – April 2022

20 March 2022 By Sue

April is here, with longer days, lighter evenings and warmer spring sunshine. Springtime in Payhembury is particularly beautiful with glorious displays of daffodils and primroses in gardens and hedgerows, soon to be followed with bluebells, cow parsley and hedges full of blossom producing a riot of colour to cheer us all. In Payhembury Provisions we are embracing Springtime too with colourful tulips, delicious hot cross buns and special Easter treats available in the shop. In the chiller you will find this season’s rhubarb – pink and delicious. Imagine …… homemade rhubarb crumble with double cream or custard, or roasted rhubarb with a dollop of Tim’s Dairy Greek Yogurt or Baboo Madagascan Vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of East Devon honey …… delicious and all available in your local village shop!.

A reminder that from April 1st you will be able to purchase a square to enter our special Easter raffle with a chance to win £25.00 and £15.00 to spend in the shop.

A special notice to all our valued account holders – unfortunately we are no longer able to accept credit cards to settle accounts at the end of each month. Debit cards, cheques or cash are all accepted. Credit cards can of course be used to purchase items. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Finally, we are very aware of the rising cost of living at the present time, we too are faced with wholesale price increases. However, be assured that we will always do our best to ensure that our prices are as competitive as possible and with rising fuel prices it may be cheaper to buy from your local shop than drive to a supermarket. Payhembury Provisions is local, run by volunteers and open from 8.00am every day of the week, closing at 7.00pm on weekdays, 1.00pm on Saturdays and 12.00pm on Sundays, and you can be sure of a friendly welcome. We look forward to seeing you.
