Hello Friends
Time for me to tell you about some of the happenings for us mice. When the weather is fine we like to go out into the field with our field mouse cousins, you can see them in the picture.
We like to run up and down the pieces of wheat and barley and sway on them. We have to be careful we get out of the way before the combines come and harvest or else we would be minced mice! It’s great fun though and we do like going outside to play with our friends in the fields. We tell them about all that goes on in church and they tell us …

Churchmouse – July
Dear Friends,
What fun we have been having. We just loved the Queen’s birthday weekend. We mice had a great party, shame about the weather, but we all dressed up. We made robes from small pieces of material we found lying around; no we didn’t bite bits off Rev Cate’s robes. Mum was busy for days sewing tiny pieces together to make a long cloak for Parchina and we found some tin foil and made crowns. Everyone dressed up, our mice cousins came in from the field and we had a mouse street party behind the church. We had hoped that if the children …

Dear Friends
What a busy time of the year this is! Mum and Dad are busy sorting out our nests after the winter and we have been told that we have to do the same. It’s not a job Parchina and I like doing. We have got to sort out all the old straw bedding, underneath which we find all sorts of rubbish that we were too lazy to throw away when we should have.
Sometimes though we have found something of interest. I found a tiny chocolate egg left over from the Easter egg hunt, so I was kind and shared it with Parchina. It was a bit dusty but it …

Look what I found ...
A picture of Mum pushing me in a pram when I was a baby! Don’t I look sweet? Mum looks so proud of me too. I hope she is still proud of me and Parchina now that we’ve grown up. I know sometimes we do things which annoy her, like not coming back from the fields on time. She worries what might have happened to us, particularly when there is a large fearsome cat prowling around. I wonder why cats always want to chase us mice. I’d like to get to know a few but then they might just gobble me up and I’m sure that wouldn’t be …

Hi guys, can you see the notice I’ve got? It says “Keep calm and eat chocolate” Well that’s exactly what Parchina and I have been doing. We found Easter eggs left after the Easter Egg Hunt and we found lots of lovely chocolately crumbs after the Easter services, so we had a great feast. Mum and Dad told us to be careful and not to eat them all at once but they were soooo scrummy we got carried away. Then guess what happened, we both had terrible tummy ache! You see we mice aren’t really supposed to eat things like that; too much sugar is not …

Churchmouse – March
Hi guys
Oh what a shock I got this morning when I ran outside, frost, hard frost on the ground! Do you know it burnt my little toes? “Aw! Oooh! Aw!” I shouted and “Aw! Oooh! Aw!” again, then out ran Parchina and she joined in with the Aw, Ooh, Aw dance.
Mum came running out to see what all the noise was about. (She’s always afraid that if we make too much noise we will annoy the neighbours and they’ll put out traps for us, but we know the people of Payhembury are far too kind for that!)
Well, we got told off for running outside before …

Hi friends,
Do you like this picture Rev Cate sent from her holiday? It’s of a mice cricket team. We were so surprised to see this we mice have never thought of playing cricket, but this has put the idea into our heads. We are not sure whether you can play it indoors; the weather at the moment is not very nice so we are spending most of our time inside.
Don’t tell anyone but we have a new game, we leap onto the bell ropes and swing from rope to rope, Mum says it will damage the ropes and we will get into trouble but we are very careful.
We …

Hi friends,
We hope you have had a great Christmas. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed having our field mouse friends with us. They were amazed at the Christmas tree in church; they enjoyed playing in the tree and swinging from the branches. Mum was very worried we would break the baubles, but we were very careful. We made some great swings out of the tinsel!
We played some great family games as well and spent a lot of time dressing up as different people. Parchina was very cheeky and found a piece of white plastic and tied it around …

Churchmouse – December
Dear Friends
We had a shock in church this month, a pool appeared and was filled with water. What, we wondered, was this for? Was it some new way of spring cleaning? Well, we waited to see what was happening and what a surprise, there was a Christening service, nothing unusual about that, but during this baptism, Abigail and Anna went right under the water. That certainly was a bit different from babies being held over the font!
We heard Abigail and Anna making their promises to follow the teachings of Jesus and everyone sang happy songs. We …

Churchmouse – November
Hi Everyone
We mice had a bit of a shock at the beginning of the month. We were looking forward to Harvest Festival as I wrote ast time but what a surprise we had with school’s Harvest Festival.
At first a few children arrived and hid behind our screen, “Oh,” we thought, “that’s funny; the children usually sit in rows.” Then someone came in and gave them something that really surprised us - mice masks, and they started to squeak just like us! Then the service started and the children told the story of Parchie and Parchina mice and family and …
