Churchmouse – April

29 March 2015 By Sue

cate3Dear Friends
Just look at this picture. Parchina caught me when I was tucking into a nice little egg. I thought no one was around, so I settled down to eat it all on my own which I knew was a bit greedy but I didn’t care at that moment (I know that’s naughty). Well, I was tucking in, getting my whiskers covered in chocolate, when along came Parchina. “What are you doing,“ she squeaked. “Nothing,” I spluttered through the chocolate in my mouth. “Well, you could have shared that egg, couldn’t you?” Parchina commented, looking rather hurt.

At that moment a light bulb came on in my head and a horrible sick feeling came into my tummy. “Yes, I suppose so, sorry,” I replied. I felt very sick and very upset that I had been so selfish and not thought to share the Easter egg I had found which must have been ready for Easter Day when everyone shares out eggs. If only I had listened to Rev Cate and what she tells us about the teachings of Jesus, I would have remembered that we should share with others
and not be selfish.

I hope the twins, Nathan and Hayden, who were baptized just before Easter grow up to be boys who will share. I expect they are too little to remember some of Rev Cate’s words but I expect their Mum and Dad and their Godparents will help them to listen to the lovely teachings of Jesus about loving, caring and sharing. I think I’ve learnt my lesson so I hope you children will forgive me because I heard someone say that some special visitors to school (I think they were called inspectors) thought you children were amazing and so caring and sharing, so I must try harder.

Love and squeaks, Parchie and Parchina
