Allotments / Village Car Park / Football Pitch

5 August 2020 By Sue

The Leach family have very generously offered an area of approximately 2 acres of land down in The Meadows to be used for a village car park, allotments and a full size, flat!!! football pitch. The Parish Council have checked with EDDC planning authority to see what their view would be regarding planning permission as there was no point pursuing this idea if EDDC felt there was no likelihood that planning permission would be granted. However, they have come back saying, in principle, planning permission could be granted. Now that the Parish …

Road Closures Through Colestocks

1 August 2020 By Sue

Update on proposed 6-week road closure in Colestocks: The proposed 6-wk road closure in Colestocks to enable Western Power to connect a property has obviously been delayed by the current pandemic. In mid-June I spoke to Western Power who confirmed that they are still investigating alternative ways to avoid closing the road for such a long time. A solution had not been agreed at that time and the 6-wk road closure has not been ruled out, although it is a last resort. Hopefully a better solution will be agreed soon. Once a decision has been …

Update on Proposed 6-week Road Closure in Colestocks

23 January 2020 By Sue

The proposed closure of the road through Colestocks (from near the end of the Payhembury-Colestocks footpath, through the centre of Colestocks and down to Shoots Barn) is still being discussed by all of the relevant parties. The aim is to find a solution that enables the property to be attached to the National Grid whilst minimising the disruption to road users. A number of options are being revisited to see if they can be made to work and the time it is taking to find the best viable option is an indication of how complicated this issue …
