A reminder to you all that this is now in operation. If you are in a medical emergency situation and need extra immediate help such as someone to fetch the defibrillator or assist with chest compression, ring this number and a village volunteer will respond. REMEMBER TO RING 999 FIRST VETS 01404 565605 I have heard that a number of people immediately threw out the yellow slip with the number on it that was with the parish paper, thinking it was an advertisement for an animal doctor! The defibrillator is now commissioned and ready to use. It is situated on the pillar of the Payhembury Provisions porch. Please note the emergency phone is a small box just above the defib. All you do is press the button to be connected to the 999 operator and they will give you the code for the box. The purpose of this is to make sure the ambulance is called. Nearly forty people attended the Defibrillator Awareness evening in the hall given by Tina from Community Heartbeat. Everybody found it stimulating, non-threatening and entertaining, being pitched at just the right level. […]
