Payhembury Provisions News – April

27 March 2020 By Sue

Who would have thought that we would be feeling nostalgic for a time when boring old Brexit was uppermost in our list of worries? Now we are living in uncertain times but the encouraging news is that Payhembury with its committed and caring community spirit is a good place to be in a crisis. Within hours of publishing our Coronavirus poster, which you can see in this Parish Paper, we had offers of help from dozens of people, thank you to every one of you. So if you need some help, and that could be anyone amongst us, then just ring the shop on 01404 841856 and we will do our best to organise whatever goods you need, to be delivered to you. Please don’t come into the shop if you, or anyone close to you, is feeling at all unwell.

As you all know by now, we are firm supporters of local food suppliers and we trust that they will continue to stock our shop through the months ahead, along with deliveries of staple goods from our wholesaler.

Advice from the government is changing day by day at the moment and by the time you read this our older volunteers (some of our real troupers are in their eighties although you’d never believe it!) may have been advised to go into temporary hibernation. So if you can’t go to work, are fit and healthy and could help in the shop we would love to hear from you. Please ring Anne Baxter on 01404 841345.
