Constance was for several years the editor of the Parish Paper. She took on the job with her usual enthusiasm when in her sixties. Undaunted by the complexities of her new Publisher software she produced an interesting and well put together paper every month.
She was a great supporter of village life in so many ways, a regular churchgoer, a kind neighbour, a loyal customer of the village shop and also a volunteer there when in her eighties.
She was a hugely talented artist with solo exhibitions to her credit, whose works were displayed in The …

Alan’s Nature Notes from November
Hello again
The winter thrushes have arrived, all the way from Scandinavia! They are really called fieldfares and are lovely big thrushes that are very strong flyers. They spend the winter here, in our warmer climes, feeding on the fruits of the hedges, trees and the orchards!
Margaret and I visited North Wales recently, and we went up the Conwy Valley, in Snowdonia. It was a beautiful day, and the colours were magnificent - green hills, blue skies, silver lakes and lots of bright red berries on the rowan trees. Hundreds of fieldfares and …

TVCT AGM 2016
TVCT held its AGM last month and discussed possible future projects. Artistic Director, John Somers, briefly recalled the original work undertaken in a great variety of sites since he was invited to create a production to mark the arrival of the new millennium in 2000, resulting in the multi-site performance of ‘Parson Terry's Dinner’.
The most recent was 'They Dream of Home', a walking performance to commemorate the Parish's involvement in WWI. The aim is to create new work of various kinds and to widen participants’ experience of different …

Churchmouse – December
Dear Friends
We mice are very excited as Christmas is coming. Oh we love Christmas especially when there is a Carol Service. We love the singing but we also have great fun clearing up all the crumbs from the mince pies. In fact last year I ate so many it gave me tummy ache. Mum had told me not to but I thought they were so good I couldn’t stop.
Last year we heard there were carol singers in the village, going from house to house, so this year we thought we’d get some of our friends and make a mouse choir and go and visit all our mice families …

Alan’s Nature Notes from October
Hello Nature lovers
The fine weather has continued well into October this year, and the birds have enjoyed it. The swallows and martins stayed about until early October, I saw them at Upton on the first! There were a few butterflies about too - there was a peacock, a red admiral, a few whites and a dragon fly there.
On another walk, past Barrow Road, there were two jays in an oak tree, plus great tits and robins singing. We have lots of goldfinches in our garden. There are two families---they must have been very late broods, because the …

Churchmouse – November
Hello friends
Can you see what I’m doing in this picture? I’ve been gathering conkers. Parchina and I found this lovely tree, I think it’s called a horse chestnut tree. I wonder why horse chestnut? Um!
Well we found this tree and underneath were hundreds of conkers, lovely shiny brown conkers, some were still in their shells but others had popped out and were just lying on the ground. So we gathered them up and have been playing with them for days.
Mum was pleased when we brought some home as she says conkers keep the spiders away and she …
